New Style Injector / Fuel Rail Installation
Notes
- If not
included in the new rail, be sure to swap over your fuel rail plastic
isolators, fuel temp sensor and fuel rail grounding strap – this is VERY
important.
- At the
number 1 injector (nearest the oil fill) you will need to use a Dremel and cut away a bit of clearance for the new
style injector connector to fit. I
use Dremel bit #115 “High Speed Cutter” – be
sure to not allow any of the shavings to enter the plenum or engine.
Before:
After:
- Replaced
the rubber isolators which are between the bottom of the fuel rail and the
lower intake manifold.
- Use
the new provided Nissan fuel injection hose to replace the bridge between
the rails and the connecting hoses to the fuel pressure regulator and fuel
pulse dampener.
- When
splicing in the new style injector connectors – if the wires on the new
connectors are different sizes – match wires thick to thick, thin to thin
with those on the EFI harness.
Always solder & insulate the connections.
- I
*highly* recommend doing the 12v switched injector circuit modification
which is documented below. This
will convert your injector circuit to match the behavior of the 1995 model
year EFI harness. This means that when the car is off that injectors do not
see a constant voltage sent to them.

- Finally
– always check for fuel leaks by turning the car to the ON position and
letting the pump prime, then start the car.
